The
following materials are available at local stores and
you may already have equivalent materials. The
prices listed are from Hobby Lobby. All materials are
also available online at stores like www.utrechtart.com
and www.dickblick.com and www.cheapjoes.com at student
prices. This is a minimum list of materials required for
the workshop.
- Newsprint will be available free of charge for first
time students using charcoal
for future classes, an 18 x 24 inches pad of Newsprint
or white paper $ 9~12
- Kneaded rubber ‘charcoal’ erasers $ 1.69
- 2 – 2B charcoal drawing pencils $ 2.99
- Basic pencil sharpener $ 1.79
- Painters need canvas board or canvas 11x17 to 18x24
- Acrylic paints in primary colors (red, Yellow, Blue)
- Mars Black and Zinc White
- Cotton rags
- Mixing palet
- small containers for water and mixing
- Brush assortment filbert #2, #4, #8, #10
Optional

- White Conte crayon or pastel or pencil
- Inexpensive plastic ruler or other straight edge

The Cookie Rule
If
your cell phone, laptop, or other electronic wonder
box beeps, blinks or plays the Star-Spangled Banner
during the workshop, you are asked to restore your honor
with the class by bringing cookies for everyone at the
next workshop.
